BOLSOVER
The borough of Bolsover is located on the eastern fringe of Derbyshire, alongside Nottinghamshire. The primary towns and villages are Tibshelf, Pleasey and Shirebrook in the south, Bolsolver and Elmton in the centre and Barlbough and Whitwell in the north.

The area has many bridleways and trails. Many utilise former collieries that were closed during the 1980’s and have now been reclaimed into county parks. A good example is Grassmoor, which is also the starting point for the Five Pits Trail.

Bridleways and other rights of ways in this area are managed by Derbyshire County Council.

We suggest that to get the most out of the area, you purchase the following Ordnance Survey Explorer maps: 269 and 270 to use in conjunction with our routes.
