CHARNWOOD
The borough of Charnwood is located in the north of Leicestershire. The principle towns and villages are Loughborough, Shepshed and Wyneswold located in the north of the area, Mountsorrel in the centre and Syston in the south of the borough. The area has a number of scenic areas including Bradgate Park and Beacon Hill near Woodhouse Eaves, horse riding is permitted in Bradgate park on weekdays and before 12.00 noon during the weekend. Swithland Woods and Reservoir offer limited provision for horse riders.

From a riding perspective the area is poor in terms of providing viable and connected bridleway circuits. The area is easy to get to owing to its proximity to the M1, A6, A512. We suggest that to get the most out of the area, you purchase the following Ordnance Survey Explorer map: 246 to use in conjunction with our routes.
