EAST STAFFORDSHIRE
As its name suggests the East Staffordshire district is in the east of the county. The primary towns and villages in the area are Barton under Needwood, Yoxhall, Burton on Trent in the south, Abbots Bromley, Uttoxeter, Marchington and Draycott in the central area and Rocester Ellastone, Stanton and Okeover in the north.

The area has a number public bridleways, but few are connected to form useful circuits and in many cases are intersected by busy A roads. A better option would be to cross the border into Derbyshire or up to the Manifold Valley in the Staffordshire Moorlands area.

The main roads to get around the area are the A38, A50, A515, A517 and B5017. We suggest that to get the most out of the area, you purchase the following Ordnance Survey Explorer maps: 245 and 259 to use in conjunction with our routes.
