NORTH EAST DERBYSHIRE
The district of North East Derbyshire covers most of north east Derbyshire, with the exception of Chesterfield and Bolsover. The area is on the outskirts of the Peak District. The principle towns and villages are Ashover, Clay Cross and Wingerworth in the south and Barlow Holmesfield, Dronfield in the north.

The area has a number of bridleways, however some are in a poor state of repair, particularly around Ashover. The best circuits are around Shillito Wood and Linacre Reservoir.

Bridleways and other rights of ways in this area are managed by Derbyshire County Council.

We suggest that to get the most out of the area, you purchase the following Ordnance Survey Explorer maps: OL24 and 269 to use in conjunction with our routes.
