SHREWSBURY AND ATCHAM
The district of Shrewsbury and Atcham is located on the western side of Shropshire. The primary towns and villages are Picklescot and Cardington in the south, Westbury, Minsterley and Pontesbury in the west, Withington, Uppington and Cressage in the east and Shrewsbury and Wilcote in the north of the district.

From a riding perspective the area has a number of public bridleways and country lanes that form useful circuits such as Earl’s Hill near Pontesbury or Lyth Hill Country Park. The area is however intersected by several trunk roads, which does limit the potential of some of the bridleways in the area.

The main roads to get around the area are the A5, A49, A53, A488 and A458, We suggest that to get the most out of the area, you purchase the following Ordnance Survey Explorer maps: 217, 240, 241, 242 and 243 to use in conjunction with our routes.
