| DERBYSHIRE |
Derbyshire is an extensive and diverse area of the East Midlands, which incorporates the majority of the Peak District. The county’s primary towns are Swadlincote and Long Eaton in the south, Ashbourne, Matlock, Alfreton and Ripley in the central area and Buxton, Glossop and Chesterfield in the north of the county. The area is probably one of the easiest accessed from the rest of the UK owing to its central proximately and convenient road network.
From a riding perspective the area offers a huge range of choice, whether its riding on long distance trails, such as the Pennine Way, or riding local circuits that use bridleways and minor roads. The majority of the routes start in recognised car parks.
We suggest that to get the most out of the area, you purchase the following Ordnance Survey Explorer maps: OL1, OL24, 269, 259, 245, to use in conjunction with our routes.
