Northamptonshire |
| NORTHAMPTONSHIRE |
Northamptonshire is the southernmost of the counties that make up the East Midlands and most of the terrain is rolling countryside. The county’s primary towns are Brackley and Towcester in the south, Daventry, Barby and Welford in the east, Wellingborough and Rushden in the west, Corby in the north. Kettering and Northampton are in the centre of the county. The area is well served by a network of roads and motorways, allowing easy access to most areas within the county.
From a riding perspective, the area has a broad spread of bridleways and minor country roads. In the north of the county the Brampton Trail offers a useful long distance off road alternative. The north east of the area has some interesting public bridleways, especially around Apethorpe.
We suggest that to get the most out of the area, you purchase the following Ordnance Survey Explorer maps: 206, 207, 232, 233 and 224, to use in conjunction with our routes.
